I discovered Rolfing in my search of different modalities both conventional and alternative to resolve debilitating lower back pain that was, according to my doctor, “degenerative disc disease that would continue to weaken over time.” Chiropractic care would give me the most relief but my symptoms would always return until I tried Rolfing.
My Rolfing experience was both educational and empowering giving me more than I had hoped for originally. Besides relieving my specific pain, my Rolfer took me on a journey through my body. I gained in length, flexibility, and balance as well as embodying a growing sense of spaciousness and integration throughout all levels of by being. I injured myself less and instead have the tools to enhance my alignment and feeling of each and lightness. Rolfing was, and continues to be, a profoundly transformative experience for me. I believe healing begins with ourselves before we can facilitate that process in others.
In addition to Rolfing, I am a certified IM=X (Integrated Movement = Exercise) Pilates teacher. Pilates enhances the Rolfing “line” while giving me phenomenal strength and coordination. Connecting into my core as I move my limbs in action, relieves any lower back pain, increases the length and flexibility of my spine as well as strengthens my entire body. Everyday activities are easier and my athletic pursuits have been greatly enhanced. I love sharing the beauty and intelligence of this work with others.
I received certification from the Guild for Structural Integration and The Rolf Institute both located in Boulder, Co. In addition, I am certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and I am a member of the International Association of Structural Integrators (IASI). My Pilates certification is from IM=X Pilates in New York City. I pursue continuing education within the Structural Integration and Pilates communities. Biodynamic Cranial-Sacral method is my current study. I practice yoga, Continuum and Pilates and enjoy all sorts of wilderness activities in the Green Mountains of Vermont!
